And how ironic that over 20 years later, Wyatt would pitch to have a female Red Alert filling in the medic slot of Optimus Prime`s unit, only to be rejected by Hasbro on the basis of: MEN ONLY ON THE MAIN TEAM! What, Hasbro?  What?  You gotta problem with women doctors? I wonder what would have happened if Ratchet would have been female all along. Would she’d been as prominently featured in the first comics? Would Simon Furman have turned her male by force after a while? Would fangirls ever shipped her with Ironhide? Would there be more fembots because of her? Also, would TFA have the gruff, old lady with some sort of post-war trauma? Would TFP have that episode in which Ratchet takes “drugs”?We’ll never know.
